ATTENTION ALL LOVERS OF COMEDY, SUSPENSE, AND THEATRE!! Eagle Butte's Drama 20/30 major theatrical production is coming up May 26-28 at the Black Box Theatre in the Medicine Hat Cultural Centre next to the College.
Showtime will be 7:00pm with the doors opening at 6:30pm with first come, first served seating.
This year we are doing a comedy-suspense DOUBLE BILL! That's right - TWO shows for the price of ONE! The evening will begin with a hilarious one-act play entitled He's Having a Baby. Imagine if you will that it is the 1950’s in a hospital's maternity ward waiting room. Everything is as usual with one important exception - in this play the MEN get pregnant and have to give birth while the WOMEN sit around in the waiting room!
Four women at very different parental points in their lives help each other get through the miracle of their spouses giving
birth. The laughs come fast and furious in this play that turns gender roles upside down (just imagine what male maternity wear would be like!).
Following this opening one act will be our feature full-length production of the suspense-comedy Absolutely Murder. A high school girl named Kate is simultaneously trying to help her Aunt Bess buy and renovate an old mill into something livable while dealing with the affection of two young beaus. But soon Kate discovers that someone is slowly killing off a group of her friends and she might be next! Plus, the murderer is likely hiding somewhere in the mill! When you throw in a peculiar psychiatrist, three women on their way to a mental institution and a corpse that just won't stay dead, you'll be as caught up in suspense as you are tickled by the humour.
This is a double-bill you just can't miss! Tickets are primarily being sold in advance at a reduced rate of only $5!
If there are any tickets left, they will cost $8 at the door each evening. Tickets can be bought or reserved in advance by contacting me here at the school (403-528-1996 ext.2023 or email scott.payeur@prrd.ab.ca) or from any member of the Drama class. Don't wait - get your tickets now! We look forward to seeing you for an evening to be enjoyed by all,
Scott Payeur - S.P.A.R.K. Production Manager
