The Eagle Butte community is sad to announce that after a courageous fight with cancer, vice-principal and teacher Dave Rozdeba, passed away Wednesday.
Dave was a true Talon at heart having spent much of his teaching career working at Eagle Butte, joining the school when it opened in 1996. He coached many sports teams over the years and had a special love for teaching social studies and physical education.
“Dave had such a passion for teaching and for watching students succeed,” says Principal Mark Heinricks. “He brought a positive spirit and tireless effort to all aspects of our high school. He has impacted so many students, staff and parents and will always be fondly remembered.”
“Dave’s dedication to teaching went beyond his students,” says Deputy Superintendent Kal Koch. “For many years he was a key member of our Teacher Induction program. In this role, he shared his experience and successes with those new to our division and the profession. Through this work his wisdom and insight will carry forward for many years.”
The Eagle Butte community sends our love and condolences to the Rozdeba family. Dave was an amazing teacher, friend and mentor. He will be missed.
