Cold Weather Update for Feb 12th

We would like to express our thanks to our families through this very challenging week of extreme cold temperatures. There are viable reasons on both sides of the discussion on whether to close or keep schools open. We understand and respect all the difficulties that come with school closure decisions for families and your understanding through this process is very much appreciated.

Based on the current weather data for Friday, February 12th, it is our plan to have schools open and in-person classes for students. The trend shows warming throughout the day starting at 6 AM and we are hopeful that will hold true. In the event the forecast changes, you will receive a notification in the morning regarding a possible closure or school bus cancellations. You can also find current up to date information on the Prairie Rose Transportation page (https://www.prrdweb.com/Routes.php).

Again, no decision is perfect and we understand parents may still have concerns about traveling in the cold weather. As a parent you may choose to keep your child home even when schools are open and buses are operating. Please notify your bus driver and school of this decision.

Thank you and we look forward to seeing all our students in school tomorrow.
